The majority of people are aware that antivirus programs are essential for the protection of their computers However, few are aware of the magnitude the industry has to contend with. Even the most effective antivirus programs are susceptible to issues. While some issues are minor and can be fixed quickly, other issues are more serious.
One of the biggest issues is that virus signatures do not provide sufficient to guard against a variety of threats. Each time a new virus is discovered it takes time before the antivirus companies can develop and release new anti-virus updates. This is because they have to wait until their software detects the virus and then send it to be analysed.
The virus is likely to spread and dozens, if not hundreds of avast antivirus computers could be infected. It could also spread to other networks. To be efficient, anti-virus software has to be able to identify and block these viruses quickly. This means that heuristic, or behavior analysers are more effective than signature detection that is simple.
Incompatibility is a different issue. Although most antivirus software developers are focused on creating high-quality products and eliminating bugs, it is true that different antivirus programs can sometimes cause conflicts.
